Ismail Yakubu, who was replaced at half-time in the 1-0 win over Swindon on Tuesday, is ruled out for Saturday’s League Two game.
Yakubu picked up a thigh strain and should return to training next week but the central defence partnership is now broken for the important game against Walsall. With Anthony Charles out on loan, and Paul Warhurst ill, Joe Devera may be called in as an emergency replacement the central defence.
Jason Norville is now in full training and Paul Fairclough has revealed he will be involved in next week’s Hertfordshire Cup Semi-Final match against Bishops Stratford.
Adam Birchall is doubtful for the game as he makes his comback from a hamstring strain but with Jason Puncheon, Giuliano Grazioli and Oliver Allen is other options, it is unlikely he will have a place in the squad.
