Trialist Ben Wright has rejected a contract offer and has signed for League Two rivals Lincoln City.

Wright, the English striker playing for IK Start in Norway, had been on trial with the Bees for the past week and impressed very well in games against Northwood and St Albans. Paul Fairclough offered him a deal but after being watched by Lincoln’s Director of Football when he played against City he opted to be playing his football at Sincil Bank next season.

The news comes as a massive blow to Barnet who had found an excellent player to add to the squad and would’ve been leading the attack next season, and now it leaves Barnet with just four strikers, two of whom, Giuliano Grazioli and Liam Hatch, are transfer-listed. It leaves Paul Fairclough desperate to add new strikers to the squad which is now just seven days away.
