Lee Cook was a key part of the Conference winning side but the former Southampton, Watford, QPR and Leyton Orient winger, among others, isn’t coming back into the Football League with us.

Having made 40 appearances for us the 32-year-old clearly played his part in our title success last season but he’ll be staying in Non League having signed a deal with Eastleigh for next season.

Cook started his career with Southampton so this move to Eastleigh allows him to move back, one would assume, to his roots. The Non League scene isn’t unfamiliar to Cook mind, the spell with us aside, he had also dropped into Non League football to sign for Aylesbury United having left Southampton.

The time he spent at Aylesbury eventually brought about the Watford move and the rest, as they say, is history….

Best of luck to Cook at his new club, it goes without saying we thanked him for the role he played with us in helping us back into League 2.
