Could Barnet lose Andy Yiadom before the transfer window closes in a couple of weeks? This has certainly been suggested in reports, however Martin Allen has been quoted by Get West London as saying it’s no certainty this will happen.

Definitely not at the price being offered!

Highly-rated Yiadom is being linked with a Bees exit to Championship and League 1 sides with Barnsley reportedly making an offer that Allen wasn’t entertaining with him going nowhere at that price, not even to a higher league cup, if ‘derisory, derogatory offers’ are what Barnet get!

Allen said the winger’s exit would only be the case if a serious offer is made that benefits the club and not ‘car boot sale’ offers.

‘Well it depends how much clubs offer. Gone are the days when you can just come to Barnet and take our players for pathetic sums of money.

‘This is not a car boot sale club, we’ve got good players here. If you want to come and buy them then you’ve got to bid proper money.’

The understanding, at least in that Get West London report, is Lee Johnson’s Barnsley made the offer that Allen’s referring to that has been rejected, with him left far from impressed….

Adding.

‘But what I can’t accept is people from higher divisions making derisory, derogatory offers to try and nick players out of a car boot sale. It’s ridiculous.’

Once a player sees his head turned it’s hard to turn it back, if this has been the case with Yiadom only time will tell so we’ll have to keep an eye on developments.

Moving onto something of a more positive note the Official Website has confirmed the details for the Capital One Cup second round meeting with Wolves at Molineux.

This will kick-off, as the Bees look to sting Wolves as we had Millwall in the last round, at 7:45pm on Tuesday 25th August.
