A Barnet team made up mostly of trialists were easily beaten by Southern League One South & West side Farnborough. The only first-teamers within the squad were defenders Ian Hendon and James Cole who has recovered from a hamstring injury.

Hamilton hit a brace thanks to poor defending from Barnet. Campbell hit another as well as Cobourne scoring to put the home side up 4-0 after an hour’s play as still Barnet couldn’t find the net; the striker trialists were failing to find the net when chance after chance came along in front of the onlooking Paul Fairclough.

Finally a goal came from Stephane Claude Seanla before Green added a fifth in a miserable evening for Barnet.

A little more on the trialists:

West Ham goalkeeper David Blackmore got 79 minutes to show his worth following his 45 minutes against Arsenal on Saturday. Goalscorer Ivorian forward Seanla, formerly of Kettering was the Bees’ only scorer in the game. Michael Bostwick – the ex-Rushden & Diamonds centre back – was the only trialist who really made an impression. Ludovic Quistin has had spells with many non-league clubs, whilst Orlando Smith put in a decent showing. Kraig Rochester has just come from the Leicester youth academy, French striker Stephan Honore has come over from France to get a trial with Barnet whilst Lawrence Constanti was the only starter who comes from the Bees’ Protec Academy.
