The transfer window is closed for the year and now Barnet must concentrate on collecting all three points against a team tipped for promotion, especially since their start to the season has been very poor, with just one point to their name out of a possible nine.
Bantams boss Stuart McCall has his whole team to choose from this afternoon, and told the Bradford website that ‘A lot of people deserve to be part of it. They are pushing themselves forward with good performances. Everybody is responding very positively and trying to give me a problem. I had enough difficulty naming a reserve side.’
And on Barnet, he said, ‘We don’t know a lot about them and it is a case of going into the unknown a little bit. But it’s another game of football and it’s how we approach it that matters.
‘We’ve been close with set-pieces and balls just not dropping for us in good positions. And it would make a change, instead of hitting the woodwork again, if one actually bounced in off a post.’
Barnet Team News:
Josh Wright will be given his debut, as will Kenny Gillet providing international clearance comes through, that will mean Nicky Nicolau misses out.
Neal Bishop is still on the sidelines with suspension whilst Michael Leary begins his two month wait on the injury table. Ismail Yakubu and Sagi Burton hope to pass late fitness tests following their set-backs in recent weeks but Ashley Carew is definately available having missed out last week. Joe O`Cearuill is ready to deputise should either of the centre-halves not make it.
Joe Devera returns from his suspension whilst Jason Norville could be on the bench after he re-signed for the club yesterday.
Likely Lineup (4-4-2):
CB: Yakubu (c)
Subs: Beckwith, O`Cearuill, Seanla, Hatch, Norville
Player to watch: Josh Wright – Central Midfielder
An exciting prospect in English football and fans will hope the teenager can set Underhill alight with some good creative play to open chances for the frontmen.
Bradford City Team News:
Peter Thorne returns from injury with the Bantams at full strength for their trip to London.
Player to watch: Donovan Ricketts – Goalkeeper
Giant Jamaican international goalkeeper who has 46 caps to his name. Ricketts is vice-captain of the national side and will be very tough for the Bees to fire past.
