Paul Fairclough has released Stevland Angus from his non-contract terms.

Angus made his debut, and only appearance for Barnet, in the 2-1 defeat to Brentford where Angus put in a good performance before conceding a penalty and show a straight red to head down the tunnel.

Angus was recruited the day before by Fairclough as an emergency signing due to the defence crisis he was suffering thanks to injuries and suspensions to his first-team players.

So Angus caps a second bad spell at Barnet, lasting seven days…he signed for Barnet on loan from Grays Athletic in January 2006 for three months but couldn’t manage an appearance because he spent the entire time in the treatment room suffering from a long-term injury.

Barnet now have four central defenders – captain and vice captain Ismail Yakubu and Sagi Burton, respectively, along with uncapped James Cole who signed professional this summer and Ireland international Joe O`Cearuill.
