Barnet are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jamie Stephens in the one nil victory over Portsmouth on Tuesday evening at The Hive was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Stephens was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Stephens was in fine form as Barnet defeated Play-Off hopefuls Portsmouth in Sky Bet League 2, keeping Pompey at bay with a string of saves. John Akinde’s penalty won it for the Bees, while the 22-year-old produced the goods at the other end – a fine save from Adam McGurk among the stopper’s highlight reel.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Stephens for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Jamie Stephens (Barnet), Andrew Robertson (Hull City), Paul Robinson (Wimbledon), Ashley Eastham (Rochdale), Cameron Dummigan (Oldham Athletic), John Swift (Brentford), Liam Walsh (Yeovil Town), Rommy Boco (Accrington Stanley), Gaston Ramirez (Middlesbrough), Jordan Bowery (Oxford United), Tomer Hemed (Brighton).

Manager – John Sheridan (Oldham Athletic).
