Barnet got back to winning ways when they saw off Salisbury, fighting back from one-down to win 3-1.

That in itself proved that we do have firepower to get the goal (and quickly), however it’s felt that something is missing from the forward line.

Paul Fairclough believes that the club could be looking to bring in another striker, in fact the director of football feels that this will be a specific type of striker offering up something that is lacking.

Jake Hyde’s injury enforced absence with a hamstring injury has seen a physical presence up top missed, and this is something that could do with being improved upon by a move into the loan market perhaps?

He told the Times Series: ‘I personally believe, and I think Edgar (Davids), Uli (Landvreugd) and Dick (Schreuder) believe they would like that type of player.

‘It will be a loan and it will be a striker of that nature.’

George Sykes has been mentioned, but the Bees youngster is currently out on loan and leaving him where he is would be best for his future development. At some 6ft 3inches though he definitely has that presence that’ll be utilised down the line.

We’ve got the players that have he ability to beat players and get the ball into the box, however at the moment a player to beat players in the box and power home a header from them is lacking so I think we should watch this space for that type of loanee coming in as Fairclough has suggested…
