Lawrie Sanchez believes that Barnet were ‘mugged’ on Friday night when his Barnet side lost to high flying Torquay.

Not for the first time this season, having lost late on at Plainmoor, The Bees manager felt a sense of injustice: ‘smash and grab is an understatement. Mugged is the word.

‘Mugged twice as well, as we played well down their place and lost in the 93rd minute.

‘That’s why they’re top end of the league and we’re where we are.’

Sanchez felt that the Friday night showing was the best given by Barnet this season but also knows that if chances aren’t taken, as they weren’t by his side, then defeat is always a possibility: ‘this was the best we’ve played at home all season, though, and we end up losing. You need to make enough chances when you’re on top and we did that.

‘The penalty chance was a gimme and we had enough others as well.’
