Following a 3-1 defeat at Crewe on Saturday Barnet now linger, albeit at an early stage of the season, just outside the league two relegation zone.

Lawrie Sanchez, as he told BBC London 94.9, did not think there was much between the sides but the failure to convert opportunities is what cost The Bees: ‘there wasn’t much in it during the first half. Both sides had one effort at goal and it was a great strike from their man and a great save from their keeper.

‘In the second half they went 2-0 up and I think we pretty much dominated the game. We had chance after chance and must have had three or four decent chances to score.’

Defeat probably was not warranted but until chances are taken that are created and things are sorted out defensively this will happen: ‘it’s been disappointing. When we have played well, we haven’t got the points we’ve accumulated. We need to sort ourselves out defensively.’
