The run of indifferent form (to put it mildly) shown by Barnet recently was put aside when we got back to winning ways at the weekend.

A first win in six games was obtained when we came back from one-nil down to secure a 3-1 win over Salisbury on Saturday.

For a while it looked like another defeat was on as it needed a late fightback to secure a fine comeback.

Pleased as he was with the comeback, and the quality shown to get it, Edgar Davids (who once again named himself in the starting XI, and got booked again) has made it clear that he wants more from his side.

David told the Harrow Observer: ‘We showed character and a big heart but football-wise we can definitely improve.

We had to be patient and luckily the goals fell.

‘We have played better and didn`t get the points but we did what we had to do.’

Davids did have quite a role to play in the win didn’t he?

However (often criticised as having a massive ego) he wasn’t prepared to shower himself in glory, instead he decided to highlight the team effort.

He added: ‘When you are in the team you have to forget egos.

‘Everybody has to put their effort in and who scores and gives assists in our team is not relevant.

‘What is relevant is that you put in your best effort and you do what you’ve got to do and maximise the potential you have for us to get the best results.’
