Barnet have signed six Protec players.

Barnet’s website claims the signings, along with Danny Hart, are for ‘cover’ to Barnet’s small squad and so are not expected to feature in league matches.

Protec, a Hertfordshire academy who Barnet are linked with, have already given the likes of Joe Devera to Barnet although the quality of these signings are obviously less than those of the first-choice right-back.

Rickelle Christian plays in that position, and features in the Hertforshire Cup last season, along with central defender Daniel Awolesi. Central midfielders Dean Mason and Joseph Owusu Tabiri are added along with striker Ryan Mattos who has been successful at under-18 level, scoring 46 goals in two seasons. All are 18 years of age, whilst goalkeeper Philip Carpenter is 17.

It is believed that all are on pay-per-play contracts.
