Things had gone a little quiet for a week or so, following the initial news that Nicky Bailey was training with Barnet, but his return on a ‘short-term’ deal was confirmed on the Official Website on Friday.

Bailey could be in line for his second Bees debut against Oxford today with it announced the former Southend, Charlton and Millwall man had returned to Barnet for a second spell.

The length of that short-term contract hasn’t been actually been confirmed, however I’d assume this will see him back with the club until January initially as it wouldn’t make sense for him to stay for any less time than that as he couldn’t sign for another club until the New Year now anyway!

Most importantly he’s back with the 31-year-old bringing a greater experience upon his return with his quality already well known to Barnet from his 141 appearances in his first spell between 2004-2007 before leaving for Southend.

When the Bees face Oxford today a friend will turn foe with U’s boss Michael Appleton, in the lead up to the game, admitting that recent loanee ‘keeper Max Crocombe is being used for inside knowledge now that he’s back at the Kassam Stadium.
