Martin Allen has revealed that Nicky Bailey is training with Barnet again, which could see the former Bee return to the club.

The Times-Series carries the bosses comments with him very happy to have the experienced midfielder training with the club and as long as he ‘does well’ he could be back in a Barnet strip!

Bailey went on to play for Southend, Charlton, Middlesbrough and Millwall after leaving Barnet, with the fans’ favourite potentially returning to the club?

A free agent since his release by Millwall in the summer, where he made less than 10 first-team appearances last season for various reasons, a return to Barnet, where he played between 2004-2007 in almost 150-matches could happen with Allen saying.

‘Nicky Bailey is coming here to play this afternoon (Tuesday, against Brentford) and I’m hoping he does well.

‘He did well at Millwall at the end of last season. He’s fit and ready to go now. He hasn’t got a club so we will see how Nicky does with a view to maybe taking him on.

‘Of course he’s got to do well first.’

At 31 Bailey still have a few years left in him so if he’s as capable now as he has been previously, if a deal can be done it shouldn’t be one in that much doubt should it!

However, he isn’t the only one vying for a deal….

Allen also added that he has a ‘couple of others’ training with the club too.

‘We’ve got a couple of other players coming with a view to joining our team to play today that we’re going to watch at Brentford.

‘I think it’s quite obvious we need to freshen it up and make a few changes.’
