Laurie Sanchez is ruing the ‘silly mistakes’ that are costing his Barnet side points.

The Bees manager feels that the costly, and needless, free kicks that his side give away in dangerous areas will continue to hurt his side, as it did against Oxford on Tuesday: ‘we’ve got a young side and we’re not so much getting beaten as making silly mistakes to lose games.

‘We kept giving away free-kicks around the box in stupid situations. We did well early on and in the first 20 minutes we were the better team.

‘The goal we scored probably did wake Oxford up, then they got a decent cross in, attacked the far post well and equalised. But it was from another stupid free-kick we gave away in a stupid area that they got their second goal.’
