Lawrie Sanchez has said that Barnet are down to ‘the bare bones’ although he cannot fault what he has had from his side this season, so far.

The game against Accrington last weekend saw only three outfield players named, and he knows that people could see how light they were: ‘you can see from the bench that we were down to the bare bones today. We did not have many alternatives. Charlie Taylor had a run out but we did not look like having any new ideas.

‘But it is hard to criticise the squad because in the nine games they have given everything they have got.’

In recent weeks The Bees have lost Jason Price, Exodus Geohaghon and Ryan Watts after short-term contracts – Geohaghon and Watts were released without making impact although it is thought, even though it initially was not thought so, Sanchez wanted to keep him but he opted for Morecambe.

Moves into the loan market are something that he will be hoping to make in the coming weeks.
