The Barnet run in the Capital One Cup is over for another year after the second round defeat against Wolves at Molineux on Tuesday.

Barnet were knocked out two-one by Championship side Wolves, with a late goal not enough to get the Bees back into this tie to cause another upset. Enobakhare (3) were ahead early on with Ojo (58) just before the hour doubling the lead.

Dembélé (76) got one back for Allen’s side but it wasn’t enough.

A few upsets weren’t there, perhaps not as many as it might have been expected before and/or seemed during some ties but, on the whole, most who might have been expected to progress did….

The stand out results, with them causing upsets to progress, have to be the wins for Preston, Carlisle and Walsall, beating Watford, QPR and Brighton respectively, to put them into round three and keep those cup hopes alive!

Goals flowed in a number of ties but the result of the round surely has to be Carlisle’s two-one win at Loftus Road against a QPR?

This is a QPR side that would be expected to challenge for an instant return to the Premier League following relegation, whereas the Blues haven’t won this season apart from in the League Cup!

Following the outcome of the match on Wednesday when Everton beat Barnsley five-still we knew Barnet wouldn’t be in this third round draw anyway so it didn’t make any difference when the draw was made!

Not only do we want you looking, as you are now, we’re also looking for your thoughts and views on the League Cup result the Bees had too, so do share some of those with your comments below.
