Barnet’s League 2 season continued with a two-one defeat against Cambridge at the Abbey Stadium on Monday.

After a goalless first half Barnet took the lead on the hour when John Akinde scored, he could have doubled the lead but failure to take this cost them with Luke Berry equalising in the final 20-minutes with the winner scored by Cambridge a little over a minute later through Barry Corr.

These were the other results.

Monday 28th December 2015
Bristol Rovers 2-1 Leyton Orient
Cambridge 2-1 Barnet
Exeter 0-2 Wimbledon
Mansfield 1-1 York
Newport 1-2 Plymouth
Northampton 1-0 Accrington
Notts County 2-2 Morecambe
Portsmouth 0-0 Luton
Stevenage 1-3 Dag & Red
Wycombe 2-0 Crawley
Yeovil 0-0 Oxford Utd

At the top of the table Plymouth end the year as the leaders with a two-one win at Newport with Northampton beating Accrington one-nil to keep up with the Pilgrims but both Oxford and Portsmouth, drawing nil-nil with Yeovil and Luton respectively, lost ground.

Looking at the other end of the scale Dagenham recorded a vital, and much needed, three-one win at Stevenage to give their survival hopes a boost heading into the New Year with relegation rivals York drawing at Mansfield one-all, with (as we’ve seen) Yeovil collecting a point from a goalless draw with Oxford at Huish Park.

Barnet are back in action at the weekend when the Bees head to Northampton.
