Barnet’s League 2 season continued with a win against York at the Hive on Saturday.

A couple of late goals helped see Barnet through to a three-one win against York to end a three-match losing run, with John Akinde (59) breaking the deadlock on the hour.

York drew level through Michael Coulson (80) near the end but Michael Gash (82) and loanee debutant Josh Clarke (90) made sure of the win for Barnet.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 17th October 2015
Wimbledon 2-5 Morecambe
Barnet 3-1 York
Cambridge 2-1 Northampton
Carlisle 1-0 Exeter
Crawley 2-1 Luton
Dag & Red 0-1 Hartlepool
Leyton Orient 2-2 Oxford Utd
Mansfield 1-2 Bristol Rovers
Newport 0-1 Portsmouth
Notts County 2-0 Yeovil
Plymouth 1-0 Accrington
Stevenage 2-1 Wycombe

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Morecambe, Crawley, Bristol Rovers and Stevenage.

Winning at Wimbledon wouldn’t have been a surprise as such for Morecambe, however the Shrimps going away from Kingsmeadow with the three-points after an emphatic five-two win wouldn’t have been anticipated as Jim Bentley’s side again showed the firepower they have!

A win against Leyton Orient was followed up by another impressive win for Crawley at the Broadfield Stadium when they beat Luton two-one to continue, what could be, a turnaround in fortunes for the Reds.

Mansfield’s chance to keep right in touch with the top three, not that this setback has set them back too much as such, took a bit of a blow when, in a game that saw three players sent off and two of them for the Stags, Bristol Rovers went away from the One Call Stadium with a two-one win.

Probably the result of the League 2 weekend though has to go to Stevenage with Teddy Sheringham’s side ending a poor run of form with a win over Wycombe at the Lamex Stadium when they stunned the Chairboys two-one.

Barnet are back in action this midweek with an away game against Hartlepool at Victoria Park.
