Barnet are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Elliott Johnson in the two nil victory over Accrington Stanley at the weekend at The Hive was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Johnson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Barnet bounced back from a midweek EFL Cup thrashing to defeat Accrington Stanley 2-0 at The Hive. Johnson’s assist for John Akinde helped put the Bees on their way, but it was the display from the 21-year-old and his fellow defenders that caught the eye as they restricted Stanley to few clear-cut chances.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Johnson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Jak Alnwick (Port Vale), Elliott Johnson (Barnet), John Egan (Brentford), Jamie Turley (Newport County), Ryan Jackson (Gillingham), Brennan Dickenson (Colchester United), Conor Hourihane (Barnsley), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City), Rudy Gestede (Aston Villa), Kieran Agard (MK Dons).

Manager David Wagner (Huddersfield Town).
