It’s something that’s seemed “inevitable” since Edgar Davids arrived, and it’s now happened. Mark Robson has moved on.

Robson was appointed as Barnet head coach last summer, a difficult start to life at Underhill left him under pressure and then Davids arrived as joined head coach. Since that point it seemed the “writing was on the wall” and Robson would eventually move on…

His departure was confirmed on Friday with this statement, on the official website, reading: ‘It was felt that clarification was required regarding the coaching responsibilities at the club and to this end it was agreed that Mark should leave with immediate effect.

‘Edgar Davids will continue in his role as Head Coach and will take full responsibility for all first team footballing matters.

‘The club would like to thank Mark for all his efforts and hard work and wish him the very best for the future.’

It’s funny that his departure comes off the back of back-to-back wins over the festive period, however from the sounds of it how much was down to Robson is debatable?
