Morale is low with Barnet at the moment; that is the admission of Mark Hughes.

The Bees captain knows that the club are on a bad run, they cannot stop conceding and also cannot stop losing and this has left a ‘low mood’ at Underhill.

He did take a few positives from the 4-0 thrashing on Tuesday and, as he told the official website, knows what is needed to turn things around: ‘at the moment we don’t look like the same group of players we were a few months ago, we’ve got to stop conceding goals.

‘The mood is low, that’s four defeats in four, but the only way to rectify that is to get back to winning ways and be as professional as possible as individuals and hopefully the team can start picking up points. We need better performances.

‘If there are any positives to take, the reaction in the 20 minutes after the sending-off was good but the second goal before half-time was a sloppy one to concede.’
