Lee Harrison has been appointed as Barnet’s new captain.

Paul Fairclough told the club website that he chose Harrison among other candidates because the player-coach is ‘the perfect role model’ for the youngsters in the squad and that he would make the perfect skipper for the Bees in their new campaign as they aim for the play-offs.

One of the fans’ favourites, voted three times Player of the Year, Harrison rejoined the Bees from Peterborough United last season and was a regular in the squad despite only arriving with his primary role as goalkeeping coach to the now departed Ross Flitney. He has made nearly 300 appearances for the Bees.
