Joe Devera has recovered from his injury and is lined up to play some part in Barnet’s game at St. Albans.

Lee Harrison is also recovering from his injury that has kept him on the sidelines and he is aiming for a comeback at Histon. Both players have missed most of pre-season and Paul Fairclough will be hoping to use tomorow’s friendly as well as the last one on Saturday to get them some football action ahead of the new season which is now just 12 days away.

Harrison’s hamstring injury has allowed trialist goalkeepers to take his place in the friendlies, including Tim Trebbs, David Blackmore, Mikkel Andersen and Rob Beckwith. The favourite to be signed up as understudy to the captain this season are the latter. Andersen will not be signed on loan because, as expected, Reading manager Steve Coppell says he would want Andersen to be playing every week if he was to go on loan with the Bees, and that he’d gain more from staying with the Royals rather than sit on the Barnet bench.

Devera’s position, unable to be filled due to a groin injury, has been much harder to fill because the only other right-back in the squad has been Ian Hendon who Fairclough is trying to get off the pitch and more into the coaching scene. Central midfielder Max Porter has, strangely, been used there whilst versatile trialist Michael Bostwick has also featured there.
