Paul Fairclough has reiterated his stance on agents.

Barnet have not payed any money to agents over the last few years, something the Football League are wanting other clubs to follow the lead of, and on Barnet’s tight budget that has been extremely important.

‘We don`t believe in giving money to agents, let the players give them the money,’ Fairclough told BBC London 94.9. He explained: ‘We get issued at the beginning of the close-season, we get a list of players that have been released, and its published by the PFA…we are allowed to talk to those players, and having done that the next thing is an agent appears out of nowhere and is demanding a fee…well we`ve done all our hard work and followed these players and know them.’

However despite the recent announcement by the Football League in the amount of money payed to agents, Fairclough commented: ‘whether clubs are following suit I`m not so sure because what people say they do and what they actually do, I know for a fact, is not going on.’

‘All I know is that we will avoid that as far as we possibly can.’
