Barnet have brought in a new coach to join Edgar Davids’ setup at Barnet, with them another Dutchman too.

Dick Schreuder, who had been with SDV Barneveld since 2007, will become The Bees’ new “head of coaching”.

Schreuder said this on the official website: ‘I am very happy to join Barnet, it is a new challenge and I think it will be a very good move for me.

‘I hope to settle in quickly and help the team, we will see how it goes. I don`t know everything about the league but I am very excited to join the project Edgar and Uli have started.’

The 41-year-olds appointment makes him the third Dutch member of Davids’ coaching setup, with himself and Ulrich Landvreugd completed as a trio by Schreuder.

This appointment sounds like it could be quite an exciting one as he has been described as “introducing an attacking brand of football while encouraging youth development” during his time with Barneveld.
