Barnet are going to be without defensive duo Darren Dennehy and Daniel Leach for the opening month of the season at least.

Dennehy, who missed out on the whole of last season after September, had returned for pre-season but a setback saw him miss the latter stages of this.

Whereas Leach, Dennehy’s replacement last season, was also a long-term absentee before ending the final games in the team – although he too suffered a setback in pre-season.

The official website, and what Lawrie Sanchez said after the Morecambe win, saw the Barnet manager say ‘they would be out of action for the foreseeable future.’

By all accounts the transfer market is not going to be used for reinforcements in this area.
