Barnet fought back from a goal, and a man, down to draw with Accrington on Friday night and move out of the league two relegation zone.

A breakthrough couldn’t be managed by either side in the first half so it was a case of “as you were” at the interval.

Shortly after the break Accrington did force a breakthrough with Romuald Boco (53) marking his 100th appearance with a goal.

Edgar Davids, who has (it seems) been threatening to see red a couple of times since his arrival, was sent off for two bookings to make The Bees’ chances of getting back into the game tougher. These chances should have been ended with the visitors missing another opportunity.

Having seen his initial penalty saved by Ian Dunbavin, with it deemed he came off his line too early, Mark Byrne (71) made no mistake with the retake to equalise and earn Barnet a 1-1 draw.
