Edgar Davids has never been backwards in coming forwards has he, with him something of a controversial character over the years.

Over the summer he gave himself the squads number one, however hasn’t been using himself as a player in the conference…

It would appear that perhaps he’s not even the head honcho when it comes to team selection and tactics even, so is he even the number one at the Hive?

Bizarrely Davids hasn’t travelled away for some of the Barnet games, and will miss yet more still.

Asked about this he said: ‘I don’t have to explain anything to anybody. I don’t have to discuss it. There will be matches when I am not there and so be it. This is what I have spoken about with the chairman. That it is.’

This response has drawn some criticism from some Bees fans, and you can understand why as surely they deserve to be shown a little more respect than this!

It has since been suggested by the chairman that Davids and coaches Ulrich Landvreugd and Dick Schreuder form a Dutch management trio with it also suggested that perhaps it’s Landvreugd that actually selects the side and works on the tactics?

Perhaps I am wrong, but I am getting a feeling that it perhaps might not be too long before Davids moves on…
