Following unsuccessful trials to two foreign footballers at left-back, Barnet have handed Frenchman Kenny Gillet a chance to impress at Underhill.

Gillet arrives in England from Caen, following a recommendation from Arsenal defender, and friend of Gillet, Gael Clichy.

Paul Fairclough, who has strong connections with Arsenal following his time there as Scout, spoke to Clichy following to release of left-backs John Glele and Jakub Bures and was recommended to give Gillet a run out.

Gillet, 21 years of age, looked good in his position in Tuesday’s game at St. Albans when he came on in the second half and fans will be hoping that finally we have found the man to act as competition for Nicky Nicolau.
