Kevin Lisbie’s signing this summer, when the former Charlton and Leyton Orient striker was snapped up, brought Barnet some extra experience up front. We’ve added his former teammate Shaun Batt too!

Batt is very familiar with veteran Lisbie as he played alongside him at Leyton Orient before his release, the name will probably be familiar to some too as his brother Damian previously played for the Bees.

His arrival on a two-year contract was confirmed on the Official Website this week with him commenting after his arrival.

‘I’m really happy to have signed. It is a good club with great facilities and I am looking forward to getting some stability back in my career.

‘In terms of circumstances it is a great club for me and I knew that it is the right place for me to be.

‘The guys had a great year last year and I am more than happy to play a part in what will hopefully be another successful season.’

Experience, at various Football League levels, isn’t something that Batt lacks with him counting Peterborough and Millwall among his previous clubs.

As expected Martin Allen asked the advice of Lisbie who didn’t hesitate in recommending him telling him to ‘get him’ as he would ‘be a great player for us.’

The addition of the 28-year-old should, you would think, conclude our additions in the striking department shouldn’t it!
