Barnet have missed out on the signing of Derek Stillie.

The experienced Scottish goalkeeper, 33, had been on trial with the Bees for the past few days and has not been able to play in pre-season friendlies because he’s not been eligible to play but has now decided to join the League One side who signs a one year deal.

The bees are trying to find an understudy to captain Lee Harrison this season and have had various players on trial alongside Stillie, including Protec’s Tim Trebbs and West Ham’s David Blackmore, who now appears to have been released after failing to impress.

The current favourites to be offered deals at Underhill lie with Luton’s Robert Beckwith and Mikkel Andersen who is currently at the club on work experience, although he participating in Dutch Under-20 Cup games. If Andersen is Paul Fairclough‘s prefered choice, he will be offered a one-year loan spell at Barnet.
