Paul Fairclough has signed midfielder Michael Leary on a free transfer from Luton Town.

Leary was released from the recently relegated League One side after a long unsuccessful stay. He made just 11 starts in 5 years (although scoring an, in proportion, impressive 3 times) for the Hatters and now at 24 years old, is eager to get his career back on track with some regular football with the Bees.

The lastest signing at Underhill told the official Barnet website: ‘I am very happy to be here at Underhill and look forward to kick starting my career off again.’

‘I am looking forward to the challenge,’ as Fairclough began pre-season training yesterday aiming to instill the belief that this group of players can achieve a top-7 finish at the end of the season.

Central midfielder Leary has also played for Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Torquay Utd and Brentford in loan spells for all of those clubs.

Leary is Fairclough’s sixth signing of the season and the boss is planning more via. his imfamous trialing aspect to scouting as the players returned yesterday morning for pre-season.
