Barnet squandered the chance to claim a first league two win of the season when they let a two-goal lead go, but still managed a point at Southend on Saturday afternoon.

A goalless first half did see Southend denied twice by the woodwork, so they we’re unlucky not to be ahead.

Shortly after the break Ricky Holmes (54) gave Barnet the lead with this doubled by Jake Hyde (65) soon after to leave The Bees in control.

Freddy Eastwood’s (67) penalty midway through the half brought Southend back into the game with Kevan Hurst’s (84) late strike seeing the game end in a 2-2 draw.
