Barnet’s opponents in the first round of the FA cup have been revealed.

This weekend the final qualifying round took place, and on Sunday afternoon the draw for the first round proper took place live on ITV.

For us to even take our place in the first round we had to overcome a qualifying game, and we managed this on Saturday when we overcame Concord Rangers 3-0 at Underhill.

The reward for that qualifying round win for Barnet is a trip to Preston’s Deepdale next month.

Quite clearly Preston, at the right end of the league one table, would be the favourites for this game anyway but the fact that they’ll have home advantage would make them favoured even more.

Why bother playing if we’ve accepted defeat though, this is the FA cup we’re talking about and we see giant killing upsets all the time and the Bees have been the side doing this plenty of times over the years!

This tie will be played on the 9th or 10th November.
