Talk about entertainment value! No one would feel short changed from the Crystal Palace visit on Saturday but it was the Premier League side that edged out Barnet in an eight-goal thriller.

Alan Pardew’s Palace side showed their extra class and quality as they cut through the Bees defence more than once, coming from behind to eventually see us off five-three at the Hive.

We made a great start with Akinde putting us ahead with a little over a minute played but Gayle soon had Palace level with him adding a second to see the topflight side ahead two-one at half time.

Gayle’s hat-trick was complete in the second half before substitute Gambin pulled one back only for Palace to go into a two-goal lead again when Allassani scored….

Again though we battled back with veteran Lisbie scoring. Palace had the last say with Campbell making it five.

Martin Allen, whilst being disappointed with elements, will take some positives from this with it another good run out for those involved with those looking on suitable entertained!

Barnet: Stack; Hoyte, Nelson, N’Gala (c), Johnson; Yiadom, Togwell, Champion, Tomlinson; Weston; Akinde.
From 60 minutes: Stack; H.Taylor, Gater, Dembele, Muggleton; Shomotun, Fonguck, Roache, Gambin (c); Lisbie, Gash.
