Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said he will field a strong side for the annual friendly visit at Barnet.

Wenger told Arsenal.com: ‘It could be a very strong team at Barnet.’

Kolo Toure, Manuel Almunia, Mathieu Flamini, Denilson, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy should all feature, probably for one half of the match before the Gunners’ youngsters take over.

Also featuring will be Theo Walcott and Robin Van Persie, both of whom make their comebacks from long-term injuries.

Summer-signing Lukasz Fabianski should also make an appearance for Premiership side.

The game is notable far more for Arsenal fans than Barnet ones because the ground is normally packed-out with Gunners supporters wanting to see their team play, who during the season they wouldn’t be able to see otherwise, due to high ticket prices. And the high ticket prices at this game mean Bees fans normally miss out, this year more than most, because League games are cheaper and they have the Crystal Palace friendly to look forward to next week.

Over 5000 tickets have already been snapped up for the first friendly for both teams and just 300 tickets remain on the East Terrace which will be sold today.

The most memorable result between these two sides is the 10-1 thrashing by Arsenal, with ex-Bees winger Richard Graham netting the first goal of the game! Last year, Barnet managed to hold Arsenal to a 0-0 draw and almost won the game through an Ismail Yakubu header, but it was ruled offside.
