Barnet are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by John Akinde in the three nil victory over Leyton Orient at the weekend at The Hive was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Akinde was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Akinde starred for Barnet as he scored two goals in a 3-0 London derby victory over Leyton Orient. The first of the striker’s two goals was his 50th for the Bees, and he soon added another in a dominant home win at the Hive.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Akinde for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Anyon (Scunthorpe United), Stephen Warnock (Wigan Athletic), Anthony Gerrard (Oldham Athletic), Maxime Colin (Brentford), Johnny Russell (Derby County), Bobby Reid (Bristol City), Nathan Thomas (Hartlepool United), Kyle Bennett (Portsmouth), Chris Maguire (Oxford United), John Akinde (Barnet), Louis Dodds (Port Vale).

Manager – Neil Warnock (Rotherham United).
